Home

A home is NOT a house- home is somewhere you can go in hard times or good times. A home doesn’t have to be fancy or have decorations. A home needs love and happiness to be a home. In my room at night, I feel warm and cozy in my bed knowing that tomorrow is a new day to do new things and have new accomplishments. A home is on Christmas morning waking up and feeling joyful and smelling fresh chocolate chip cookies just coming out of the oven. A house doesn’t feel like a home. You’ll know when a home is a home. A home is not temporary. A home smells like fresh apple pie at thanksgiving dinner. Home is after a long day just laying in your bed reading a book and waking up on Saturday morning and staying in your pajamas all day. A home is your safe place, a place to go if you’re sad or had a bad day. I come home to my cat Fraya. She purrs, and it makes me feel better. Home is somewhere that makes you better when you’re sad and blue, somewhere I can go with or without you. Home is where memories are made, and pictures are taken. Where love grows, where you get hurt, and need a bandage, where you heal, and look back to memories. Home is the sunrise and sundown. Home is home always no matter what. A home is like a memory you go to everyday. A memory where you sleep, wake up, and eat pancakes for breakfast on Sunday morning and sit on the beach drinking lemonade. Home is home always and FOREVER. Thank you Habitat for Humanity. By Jilly
