Home is Where the Strength Lies
A girl named Mia lived in a small town. She adored group projects. “Mom, can we get supplies for my project?” she said excitedly.
“Okay, honey,” her mom said.
They arrived at the store. Mia jumped out of the car excitedly. “Yay, Mom.” She ran to the popsicle sticks. “Mom, this is perfect to construct my tower!” Mia exclaimed. They checked out their items. Mia ran out of the store excitedly.
The next day Mia showed the items to her group. “Aren't these perfect guys!” she shouted. They began constructing and the more sticks they placed, the more it came together. “It's done!” one of the kids announced.
Mia was so proud of it. “Guys, can I bring it home to paint?”
“Of course!” the kids shouted.
On the ride home, Mia was looking out the window excitedly. She arrived and began painting. Finally, it was complete! “Mom, come look at my project!” she said.
”It's beautiful”, Mom said.
Mia was getting the project ready for the presentation. "Mia’s group!" Mr.James shouted. Mia walked up to the class and dropped the tower. It broke. Her group yelled at her… she felt like she failed. As she walked home, tears streamed down her cheeks. When Mia got home, her family noticed her sad face and hugged her. She shared her feelings. Her parents reminded her of her success. Mia realized she wasn't alone.
By the end of the week, she confidently presented in class and got an A. "Mom, I got an A!”, she said. A tear rolled down her mom's face. "Mom, are you okay?” she asked. "Mia, I'm so proud," her mom said.
Home is the love and support of family, giving strength to face challenges.
