The Whispers and Echoes of Home
The sounds of my home are many
Which provide me with memories a plenty.
Each room in the house has its own tone
To make sure that I never feel alone.
When I hear the whooshing of the front door opening
I want to give the visitor a welcoming.
After the closure of the door with a thud
The feeling of safety wraps me up like a flower bud.
On those rainy days, the gentle taps of the raindrops
Fill the air with a melody of soothing plops
And hit the windows and the skylights
Creating a feeling of coziness under the warm home lights.
At the dining room table, happiness dominates
As chatter and laughter activates
The sense of gratitude for Mommy
Who makes sure we never feel hungry.
The garage is the sports headquarters
Pucks hitting the wall makes it sound like it shatters.
All the fun causes echoes of winning cheers
That become music to my ears.
Finally, the quiet of my bedroom is my source of relaxation.
The silence is much needed rest after a day’s elation.
My mother and father whisper to me some words of inspiration
Filling me with love and admiration.
The sounds of my home are my life’s song,
Where love and comfort have always been so strong.
