What does home mean to me?

Home is never quite the same alone, With family and positivity, everything is shown. From sleeping to dreaming to praying to eating, Home is a place where all hearts are meeting, Yet in my mind, it’s just the beginning. When I enter my home I see lights of a show, Reminding me of stories from a long time ago. The kitchen sparkles with lights and care, As my mother prepares the meal we will share. But now the house feels a little more still, As my brother’s off studying, chasing his will. His room once filled with laughter and sound, Now echoes softly-no footsteps around. I miss the games, the basketball shots, The times we played, the lessons we taught. The books we read together at night, Now sit alone, waiting for his light. But soon he’ll return, and the silence will break. The laughter, the games and the joy we will make. Home will once again be filled with delight, As his presence returns, bringing warmth and light. Home is a place where love always grows, Where peace resides no matter where it goes. When he’s back, the house will hum, With joy and life, like it had once become. Home is where the heart finds its way, Where love holds us together, comes what may. For home is more than walls and space, It’s where we return, no matter the case
