"My meaning of home"

My home would not be my home without my family. To me a home is a home because of the people you share it with and for me that is my family. First of all what my home means to me. My home might just be walls and a roof but to me it is way more than that. It is a place where I feel like I can be myself without being judged. When I am alone I feel cold and isolated and when I'm with my family I feel strong and bright. I feel so fortunate just to have a place to call home because some people don't. My home keeps me cozy when it is cold and it keeps me dry when it rains and I am so lucky for that. I love laughing and playing games with my family in my home. When I am at a friend's house or at my grandparents house I don't have a good sleep or I feel like I'm not at home. Second, what I love about my home. I love the smell of fresh pancakes in the morning. I love the softness of the living room couch. I love the feel of the carpet under my feet. I love the color of the walls. I love the sound of my family waking up. I love my cozy room. I love when I wake up to my dog licking me in the face. There is so much I love about my home but my favorite thing I like is family time. The difference between a home and a house is that in a home you feel cheerful, safe and welcomed, and in a house you feel like it's just a place to sleep.
