Home is Not a House it’s a Feeling By Gabe Volk
Throughout my life I've realized that a home is more than just wood and bricks, it is a place where my mom cooks delicious meals and where my dad helps me construct things. In the past few years I have learned to appreciate how lucky I am with a loving family, a roof over my head when I sleep, and food to eat. A home for me is a feeling you get with family and friends. I am grateful to say that home is a place that you enjoy with your family.
I have faced many different challenges in my life. In soccer, school and friends but the people you are always there for me are my family. I can trust my family with 100% my heart but at times I might need friends more than family, and I can also talk to my friends about most things. When I am with friends I feel at home even though I'm not at my particular house. That is because home is not a place it is something you carry in your heart.
When you go outside and look at nature, what do you think? I think of how many living things have been killed and put into homes, food, and burn piles so that is why my home is so special to me. When I look at nature I consider what might be going on in their lives: do they have friends, family, maybe even homework?
For me a home is not a place nor a person, it is something that you carry in your heart at all times no matter where you are, what you are doing or who you are with.
