What Home Means To Me

A house is just four walls and a roof, while my home is where love feels smooth. It's filled with laughter, warmth, and light, a place where dreams take flight at night. What makes me feel at home are my family members and my birds. My bird's chirping is so calm, it’s like a melody I have always heard. When I come home I hear my birds chirping from their cage, reminding myself to go pick up a book and flip a page. Within my home there is some height. When I am with my family, and my birds I feel love with might. What makes me feel at peace is the sight of my birds, how they spread their wings ever so freely like words. Their wings catch the beautiful sun just like a painter’s paintbrush moving so smooth and soft, just as soft as birds. When I walk into my home I smell hot prepared food, waiting for me on the table like flowers in the woods. It makes me take off the mask I’ve been wearing mentally and lifts my mood. All my foods are homemade healthy greens, nothing is made by a machine. When my family has meals we don’t have screens, Laughter, love, and light flows like gentle streams. A house may just be a building where you live, but a home is where you find your identity, your feelings and yourself
