What Home Means to Me By: Tomo Tong

Home? What is it? I know what it is for me! My home begins with our couch. You might be thinking why. The couch is where my whole family can gather, relax, and be comfortable together. My bed is also a cozy place to relax. The sounds in my home are also warm and tranquil. My favourite sound at home is my mom’s sweet voice when we are on the couch together. Another sound I like is when my dog Toby barks. His barks always remind me of when he was an adorable puppy. My dog also smells amazing, fantastic, and outstanding but my mom sometimes thinks he smells bad. She likes to bathe him when she’s dissatisfied with how he smells. My mom always makes our home smell refreshing by boiling eucalyptus or other aromas like an orange scent. I especially love the smell of my mom’s cooking. It always makes me hungry! She also makes very savoury food and it is always appetizing. My mom also makes sure I always have my favourite Japanese juice called Calpico. It is soooo good!!! You would love it too! There are different flavours and they are all flawless and very sugary, but not too sweetened. If I had to move I think the most important parts of my home are my energetic dog Toby, my loving family, my comfy couch, my four soft pillows, and the flavourful Japanese snacks my mom gets for me. These make my home unique for me. What makes your home special?
