My Home My Sanctuary

My home is way more than a set of walls, a roof over my head, and a floorboard that can be wide or narrow. My home is like a sanctuary where both good and bad times are shared, residing in a special place in your heart that never fades. Three years ago when I used to live in Ottawa, I stayed in a small apartment with only 2 rooms. That was my first house in Canada after I had moved from Nigeria with my family. The size or appearance of the apartment didn't matter to me at all. what truly mattered to me were the memories that we made there ---The fun trips we took, the cute pictures we snapped, and the funny moments we shared. These experiences from over 3 years ago remained imprinted in my heart, and will continue to be part of me forever. There are some elements that truly make your house a home. If I lived in a huge mansion without friends or family around, while my best friend lived in a small house with limited space, but surrounded by a loving family and great friends, I would choose to spend most of my time at her home. That's what defines a home. It's not the walls, doors, or the number of rooms. It's the family and the people you cherish that holds everything together, they are like the glue that prevents and keeps the home from falling apart. No matter how big or small my home is, Its my wonderful and supportive family that holds it together and I would never have it any other way. My home is my Sanctuary.
