Home

The meaning of home is magical. Home is where I feel immensely loved and fed with home-cooked meals. It’s getting tucked in bed every night with a full belly from supper. Home is where my family lives and friends come to visit. It smells like cleaning supplies and sounds like chaos filled with love and laughter. Home is dad tickling us until we are numb and my mom organizing my life. One quote that I know is, “Home is where the heart is”, which means it’s where lucky people, like me, make our greatest memories. I have two homes. My first home is where I live. My second home is where I spend probably 40% of my time which is my dance studio. I feel safe in the dance studio. It's where I listen to full-blasted music and cheer on my friends as they dance. It is my friends and I goofing around and giggling while making TikTok videos. While we dance, we help one another reach goals and we genuinely want the best for one another. The dance teacher loves us like her kids, making it feel like home. My home is where my floors are constantly shaking while my siblings and I goof around. Home is where I help my parents unload the groceries into my kitchen. It's where my parents take videos of me dancing as a kid and slowly growing up until I'm taller than my parents. It’s my mom giving me advice in the living room when times are tough with my friends. However, home is also a place where my parents set boundaries that I don't always like. Home can be anywhere and not everyone has one, so home to me is very lucky and important. What is home to you?
