What Home Means to ME

When you step into my home you are immediately welcomed with a warm and comforting breeze. You will be greeted by my family of seven, who will say hello in Spanish and English, creating a beautiful blend of Spanglish. As you walk towards the kitchen, you will hear loud bangs coming from down the hallway, which is my younger brother practicing basketball. Moving past him, you will smell the aroma of a hot home-cooked meal cooling off beside the stove in the kitchen. Upon returning to the dining room, you'll find your meal ready and served on a plate. Your family will join you at the table to share the joy of sitting down and eating together. However, you'll notice one seat is empty. and hear loud music coming from upstairs. It turns out to be your older brother listening to music with his friends. Despite his absence, your family will enjoy a delicious meal of tacos. After dinner, you'll head upstairs to prepare for soccer practice. You'll check the dryer for your soccer socks, and you'll find your shorts and jersey there as well. You'll grab your shin guards from your soccer bag, and fill your water bottle before watching TV to pass the time until practice. When it's time to go, you'll put on your shoes and head to practice, feeling grateful for your home and the love it brings.
