What Makes a House a Home

A home is a place where love is felt, where even if you are different that’s okay. A home is different than a house because a house can be just something you live in but a home, that's where it all changes. A home makes you feel safe. Usually someone's “safe place” is their home. A lot of people's safe places are usually a place where someone grew up. Now if someone needed a home and they only had a couple of dollars, what would you do? I personally would try to help, but I have no idea how to help because I'm only 11 and I can’t do a lot because I'm just a kid. But I know something like how to cook food, so I guess I could do that. I know that home is a safe place and that if someone needs a home, I'm not just going to let them in, but I'll try to help by giving them some food. But I'm not just going to make them food, I might give them a sleeping bag or a little electric lamp so I can help a little. The Meaning of Home contest gives me a chance to help a little bit. What I'm saying is that a home is a place where you are appreciated, and in a house, you are still surrounded by your loved ones but it's different. It's not really a cozy feeling but you can make a house a home by doing some simple things like opening all the curtains or windows (In the summer) for instance. By doing that it will open it up and make your house a home. One last thing is that our homes can not only be our homes but our family, our friends and everybody.
