Home Alone

Once there was a home, a home with no sound of laughter and cries, this home was all alone. Day after day, this home watched each person come in and out the houses around him. He thought to himself, “When will I be filled with people?” All his friends were filled with people, and he wondered, “Why can't I?” Little did he know that he would be filled with laughter and cries soon too. One super sunny satisfying day, there were people at his door. He said to his friends (other houses), “This is the day that I have been waiting for all my life!” When they got inside, the people unpacked and then they went to bed because it was getting later and later. The house did not fall asleep that night, he was so excited. The next day, the family began their life... They were safe, they were happy, and they were at home. They made many memories, good ones and bad ones, but the home only remembered the good ones. The home was there through the rough times to help them. The home watched through the years when the kid was happy and the years the kid was sad. The home had been a comforting place for many years, but then something unexpected happened. The people left! The kid was not a kid, there was no one playing soccer, and it was just parties with friends. The parents moved too. They left for a new home and the home was once again empty and alone, waiting for a new family. Thank you “Habitat for Humanity” for giving homes like this one, new families.
