Why is “Home” a Home?
Beautiful furnishings aren't what makes a house special.
Neither are astonishing pieces of art,
And various elaborate things.
What defines a home Is the presence of the resident,
Demonstrating their helpfulness and love.
If the presence is welcoming and warm, you’ll want to stay,
As it seems to lack nothing.
There was once this large residence and all the rooms were empty.
I swiftly left the place, not feeling anything welcoming.
The rooms were desolate, cold and dark.
Explanation:
The perspective of this poem is that home doesn't feel like home without the presence of parents which makes it more warm and welcoming. But just a big empty house without parents would feel dark and cold, wanting to go back to the warm welcoming home.
