The Four Seasons of Home

The Four Seasons of Home By: Sophia Knelsen I live in an old farmhouse, so it changes throughout the year. I love my house but sometimes there’s difficulties. In the winter, the bathroom door does not close, but it will get colder and then we get hot chocolate while watching a movie with my family. In the spring all the trees start budding and the yard turns yellow from the dandelions, and the smell of fresh cut grass fills the air. The dogs are outside playing fetch and tug of war. In the summer, the loud air conditioner that my mom calls a helicopter is on. We also start fishing in the pond in the back yard. In the afternoon we have a bonfire with my friends and family. In the fall all the leaves start falling and me and my siblings make a leaf pile to jump in. I rarely take the time to notice the beautiful fall colours. I cannot imagine not having the luxury of a place I could not call home that is why I am so thank full for habitat for humanity and happy that so many more people get a house to call home to.
