HOME

I am so lucky to live in a house, but to me it’s not just a house, it’s a home. Some people think that there is no difference between and house and a home but there is. Like a house is just a building with four walls and a roof. A home is what you make a house into. To me a home is a place that makes you feel safe. It can be an apartment, trailer, tent, or even a boat. My home is filled with joy, love and laughter. Home is reading books with my little brother and playing cards together. Home is special Sunday pancakes made by my dad. The best is when they have sprinkles and are shaped like the letter E. Home is photos on the walls that remind me of all of the good things that have happened with people I love and keep people that have passed away close to my heart. Home is making art and doing crafts with my mom and Nana. Home is big hugs from my mom when I am sick. Home is big, loud family dinners with everyone. I wish that everyone could feel what it is like to have a home and I love that Habitat for Humanity is helping more people do that.
