Home Isn't Just a House

What is a house, compared to a home? A house can be quiet and cold when you're alone. But a home that's where you're with your family and friends, Where everything else just makes sense. Cozy and curled up by the fireplace, watching a movie and feeling safe. Under warm blankets with a smile on my face. On days when I'm feeling down, my mom has a special way of turning it around. When I want to laugh and I want to play my siblings are there for me any day. My dad makes me laugh with all his cheesy jokes and he’s always there when I need him the most. My dog is there waiting for me, wanting a walk in the fresh evening breeze on Summer days, on Winter nights, sitting by the door looking outside. Love is what holds together the heart of the home. Even if we fight in the end it's okay, I'm forever grateful at the end of the day Making memories every day, dancing around, singing songs with my sisters, and knowing, this is my place. Habitat for Humanity builds homes so families aren't cold and alone, during the holidays and winter homes.
