4 + 2 = love
Our brick house and big red barn,
Our pasture, filled with cows.
Were how I used to think of “home”
But that has all changed now.
When my brother and sister were born,
So early and so small.
Their first family loved them so,
But had no home at all.
Our family got a phone call,
There were little twins needing care.
They said “Foster family” was our title,
Because we had a home to share.
These tiny twins have grown lots,
And their adoption day finally came.
Now these jumping, bumping kids,
Are my forever family and share my last name.
Now I know the meaning of “home”,
It is more than just four walls.
Our family of 4 grew by two that day,
Now our house is filled with love ever since last fall.
Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for raising money to give to build a house for a family in need.
