Let's help build memories
I like to make memories with my family.
It’s Christmas in the morning, and I wait in the living room. Once most of my family gets up, Dad showers. My sister starts touching presents, and I join her. We try to guess what gifts we got. Once Dad is ready for the day, we all wait for Dad at the tree. “Dad!” I say.
“Coming!” He says back. He comes downstairs and makes a fire. When he’s done, we will open the presents. “Can we go from oldest to youngest?” I ask. “No, we’re gonna go from youngest to oldest.” Mom replies. I feel warmth from the fire when my brother opens a present. He opens a toy from Paw Patrol! “Yay, Mommy! I got Zuma!” My brother says excitedly.
“Yeah!” Mom says back while taking a picture. Next, my sister opens a present. It’s earmuffs. She really wanted them. “They’re earmuffs!” She says with an excited voice.
“Yay!” Dad says. Finally it’s my turn. Mom hands me a present wrapped with wrapping paper. I open it and see that I got a ukulele!
“Hey, you guys bought me a ukulele! I love it! Thank you Mom and Dad!” I say.
“You're welcome.” Mom replies. We go to the breakfast table, and we eat cinnamon buns. Yummy. I put a lot of icing on the bun.
We watch a family movie. We watch the movie Encanto. It's a very good movie. One of my friends comes over and asks if we can play. I say yes because I like playing with her. By the time she has to go it’s dinner. We’re having mashed potatoes, steak, green beans, and gravy. After dinner, I ask Mom, “Can we go to the store and buy food for the Inn of the Good Shepherd?”
“Yeah, sure. You have to buy it with your own money though.” She says back. We go to the store, and we buy a lot of food and clothes for the people.
We Can Make a Home for People
We can make a home for people who may lose a home. We can give them care, beds, and food. We can try to make them feel welcome with love and care. We can leave items on their front porch like food, toys, and stuffed animals. You can make a house feel like a secure home by making lots of memories. I can’t imagine not having a home, but we can help those who don’t. Let’s build a house!
How I Feel When I’m Sick
My house feels cold when I am sick. I put three blankets on, and I am sweating. I take one off and I feel fine. I turn on the T.V. and watch Disney. My mom asks me if I feel warm. I say I’m okay. She gives medicine and water. I drink the medicine and the water that she has given me. I feel cared for and loved when I’m sick. Even the homeless should feel cared and loved for when they are sick. Everyone is loved and they should know that.
