Meaning of Home
To me, home feels like a big warm hug, cozy and safe. It's not just 4 walls, it's a place where you can be yourself no matter what. My home sounds like my sister's laughter, my mom's voice and my dog barking at a bird flying overhead to a tree in the backyard or a mouse running across the grass in the field. It smells like my mom’s cooking and my grandma baking chocolate chip cookies and other treats like muffins, cupcakes, pies and cake. It looks like my sister and dog are playing in the backyard in the summer. It also looks like me, my sister and my dad watching a movie during winter break. Eating popcorn m and m’s, 3 Musketeers and other candy and sweets that we enjoy. To be honest, home doesn't mean having a roof over your head. It means being with your family and the people you care about. My parents say home is where the heart is and I agree. It doesn't matter where you are in the world or if you're poor or have a different skin colour. As long as you're with the people you care about and love you can make that place home no matter what. Even if you live on the side of the road or in a house. Because that’s where we live, laugh and love. And that will never change. No matter what, no one can change that. And that’s what home means to me.
