Meaning of Home

Home. Home can be a bunch of different things to people. Whether your home is rented, owned, an apartment or a house it can still be home for you. In my home I know that I speak a different language, slovakian and czech! I know that money could be tough for some people, things can be hard and people may have lost some important people in their lives as in pets, friendships or family along the way but things will always get better, especially when you have a home you feel safe and comfortable in, comfortable enough to express your emotions, feelings and thoughts. Whether in your room or with your family around you. Expressing your emotions in your room could be like thinking about your problems before you fall asleep or exciting emotions like ‘I got a shot at my basketball game today!’ or memories from when you were little at your local playground! It could be thinking about your dreams and goals for the future, whether for school, sports or just cleaning your room tomorrow. But dreams you think about in your own home are never just dreams. Home can also be where your family and friends are! I may have most of my family all around Ontario and Europe but I can always keep in touch with them over text! But my immediate family and friends are right here with me. For me home is where my bed, shower and especially the home cooked meals my family makes are. In the winter home is where I can make a snow hill in my backyard and go sledding on it, in the summer it’s where I can eat ice cream and play in the sprinkler! Home is only home, if you make it home.
