The Meaning of Home

Home is important to me because that’s where I feel comfort from my family as I tell them how my day went, and they will listen to me. I feel safe, as home is one of my happy places. I come home after school and see that my dog was waiting patiently for me at the door. My family meets me in the living room and asks me how my day was. They are always so kind to me. I can see my Christmas tree’s lights twinkling with all the ornaments hung branch to branch with all the colorful lights. I can see my dog snuggled up by the fireplace sleeping. I see my mom cooking my favorite dinner her stir fry is so good! I look outside to see a wonderful snowy day. I want to go outside but it will be way too cold because I don’t have my winter stuff out yet. I can see my fireplace turn on and it makes me feel warm. I can hear the tv go on when my sister and my dad watch hockey. I don’t really know a lot about hockey, but my dad used to play it. He was so good until he got hurt from playing hockey. I can hear my dog’s footsteps walking to lay down in his bed. I can hear my mom calling my dog to go on a walk with her sister. My dog loves going for walks with my aunt's dog and my other aunt's dog, Buddy. The air freshener smells so good. I like the smell of lavender it is my favorite. I smell my mom's cooking. I like it when she is making roasted vegetables. I can also smell the fresh winter air coming from the window when we leave the window open. I can taste the fresh cooked broccoli that my mom just cooked, it's amazing. I can taste freshly baked chocolate chip cookies that my grandma dropped off. It's amazing! I like to have it with I glass of milk while watching home alone 1. I taste hot coca that I have on a cold winter day. I can feel my soft fuzzy blanket around me as I watch a Christmas movie and will always be home alone. It's an amazing Christmas movie. I touch the tv remote to change the Christmas movie to elf. It's a good movie. I pet my dog as he is falling asleep after his dog walk, he loves dog walks. I touch the new air freshener scents. We have one called ‘Candy Cane’ it smells like one.
