Safe at Home

There’s only one thing I love almost as much as I love my home and it’s baseball. Let me tell you what home means to me through my favourite game of baseball. Home is the most comfortable place to me. It’s like when you naturally and comfortably wind up to throw a perfect pitch. Home is comfortable like that. Home is the most loving place to me. It’s like when your teammates congratulate you on hitting a grand slam or give you a pat on the back when you tried your best to catch a ball but couldn’t. Home is loving like that. Home is the most peaceful place to me. It’s like when you’re gently tossing the ball to first base for the third out in the game. Home is peaceful like that. Home is the safest place to me. It’s like when you slide into home base and the umpire yells “you're safe!”. Home is safe like that. Finally, home is my home base. It’s where I can go for help. It’s where my family is. It’s that feeling of sliding home in the 9th inning. Home is like that.
