The Meaning of Home

The feeling of home in the winter is nights with a warm fire lighting up the room. Curled up in a warm pile of blankets watching movies is as cozy as anything can be. Shivers running down my spine. I was cold but I could feel the warmth of my family around me. I looked out the window and I saw snowflakes falling down on the ground. The feeling of home in the spring is planting flowers with my grandma. Easter morning is full of joy when you find the easter eggs around the house and see what the Easter Bunny left you. It’s also seeing a leprechaun come on Saint Patrick’s Day. The feeling of home in the fall is the wind blowing in your face as you ride your bike through some leaves on the sidewalks. Also, dressing up as something scary on October 31st, “trick or treat!” Thanksgiving is a time where you can sit at the dining room table and be yourself. Laughing as much as you want and saying what you’re thankful for. The feeling of home in the summer is jumping in a freezing lake off a dock with your friends. Having picnics out on a field of flowers. Canada Day is fun too! A hot summer day licking a popsicle. Also, building a sandcastle at the beach and finding seashells. Then the most fun time of the year comes around…school starts! This is all what home means to me.thank you habitat for humanity for everybody to be able to write about their home and all the great work they do.
