Home
A home has a cozy bed for me to sleep in. A home has a roof to protect me from lightning, rain, snow and even bird poop! A home is somewhere to feel safe and not alone. I have all those things and I want more even though I already have what I need!
In 2022 I went to Alberta on a plane and was thankful that I had the money to afford a plane because my household is four people. When I was in Edmonton, I went to a hotel and was grateful for the hotel or else I would have been sleeping outside, like camping but with no supplies. I can't imagine what that would be like to sleep outside with no comfort and no cozy spot during the winter. When I got back home to Ottawa, it felt good to be home. I missed the smell of my house.
My basement has a lot of spiders and bugs but some people have cockroaches or termites and other bugs! I would feel so grossed out if bugs were crawling on me and I would feel so creepy. I’m lucky that I don’t have to deal with that every day like some people do.
One time when I went to Subway, I saw a person who was eating a sub and was talking about the Queen dying. He was nice but when I got to my car I said to my mom that we should have gotten him a drink or salad because he was also talking about how cold it was and his legs were going to freeze. He was in need and I wish I had given him a jacket.
I’m grateful and appreciate my home and you should appreciate your home and be grateful too.
