What is a home?

What is a home? Your home isn’t always the place where you live but it is always the place where you belong and where you are loved. Not everyone has a home, not everyone can go home and feel safe it may be their neighborhood or the home itself and some people don't even have a home to go to. If you have a home then you are very lucky to be able to have one because a lot of people around the world have been deprived of that feeling. It doesn’t matter if they are rich or poor, if they are hard-working or if they can’t work at all, healthy or unhealthy they could be any of those but they might not have a home. People all around the world have had to move cities or countries or even continents because terrible things have been happening in the place they used to live. They could be kicked out by war or it could even be something smaller like them not being able to pay rent. Either way, all of these scenarios have left them moving from house to house or even homeless. They might have a place to live but they could be worried in their houses or even scared at night because they don't have a home. So if you are lucky enough to have a place to feel love and safety they know that you are lucky to have that because a lot of people don’t. You might think that these only happen in countries with war but even here in Ottawa I see several homeless people struggling to get by and have a shelter. Having a house is different than having a home and you are lucky if you have one.
