Habitat for Humanity Poem
Home, sweet home.
A place where you are free to roam.
No rules to follow,
For a brighter tomorrow.
Home is a place where you can relieve stress,
The boundary to freedom is limitless.
Just having a moment to yourself,
That's the important part.
Maybe finishing a book from the shelf,
Or listening to music with all of your heart.
Home is a wonder to all families,
It helps the community of multiple cities.
If one does lack a home’s niceties,
They, if not iniquitous, deserve such opportunities.
Although you may have a humble abode,
It is better than having none at all.
Inside your abode, time feels slowed.
Inside your abode, there’s no such wall.
Home is like a water lily.
You’re the stamen, the center, the middle.
The petals surrounding you are all your family,
To them, you are worth more than a dime or nickel.
The green below is the base for everything,
They are the support which keeps you standing.
They’re firm and strong, not easy to break,
And they’ll give you everything to see what you can make.
The water lily floats gently on the water,
Soothing, and calm; nothing to disturb you.
Your entire home is all of nature,
The sky, the grass, and the trees too.
And at the end of the day,
We learned something special.
It is good to have a home today,
And Habitat for Humanity helps pay for that essential.
