House vs. Home

A House is made with pillars of concrete Home is made with pillars of love A House is where people live Home is where a family lives A House is a quiet place to think Home is a place to dream and let your imagination go wild A house is filled with furniture Home is filled with hugs and love A house is a building in a neighborhood A home is anything you can think of Most see a house and a home as synonyms. I think they’re wrong. A house is made as a shelter. It is made of concrete and wood. I’m grateful for my house and the protection I have from the bad weather. I’m grateful for the security my house has and how it helps to keep my home safe. A home has security but is not the same as a house. A house has security that is made with a roof but my home, my home is my parents protecting me when I say I’m scared. When I run to my parents during a storm and I get a loving hug. A house is where hot meals are cooked. A home is where you enjoy them with your loved ones. Sitting around the table laughing or just a nice talk. In a home, I feel loved. In a home, there are memories that are impossible to recreate. I guess what I'm truly trying to say is, my family could move anywhere in the world but together we’d still be at home. I feel sorry for those who don’t have a house to keep their family safe. I’m so thankful for the habitat for humans foundation helping families get a house to stay safe in. I’m so glad by just writing a little I’m making a difference.
