What does home mean to me?
Someone once said “A house is made out of wood and stone but only love can make a home”. Home is where my mum stays her strongest even when she's at her worst. This is where my Nanny likes to sing to our animals for fun. Home is where I feel safe and comfortable. Where I love my family, even if they make a mistake. I feel safe when I tell them secrets that I never told anyone else before, without them getting mad.
Home is when we watch Christmas movies in the middle of the year or every week. My home is where I can feel loved when I walk in my house. It is also where I have a roof over my head. Even without a lot of money, it's still the best! We often go for walks to Fisherman's Cove. Me and my siblings get into fights over the littlest things, but we always forgive each other.
My home is like a house you would hear about in a fairytale. It has all the things that will keep you safe. It also has all the things that will make you feel loved like hugs goodnight and the excitement you see on your animals faces when you walk in the house. It has all the things you need and all the hugs and kisses. My home is where sometimes we all go over to my grandmother's house for supper. We then go swimming at Cole Harbor place.
The house smells like my Nannies' great cooking. It also smells like my mothers great stew. My Nanny Blair has great cooking skills. I love that she bakes cookies with us all the time. At Christmas time, we all bake together and listen to so much Christmas music.
My Family are all so clumsy. We fall all the time. When we went for a walk with our dog, Patches on Mother’s Day she saw a squirrel and ran after it. Patches caused my mum to tumble down the hill. It was so sad, but funny at the same time. My family have a lot of fun and laugh together all the time. That's what home feels like to me.
