Not just a building

Many people when they hear home and house see not much difference but home is not just a building, but why? A home is a place with a special warmth, joy, and love, a home is a place for safety and fun. A home is a place where you don’t feel scared or lonely, a home can be misread sometimes; maybe someone does not have a house but they feel at home, they may live in the forest with a tent but nature may be a place they enjoy, maybe they live near a store because they enjoy the smells. But what differentiates it from a house? A house is a place you stay in; a building with furniture and walls, doors and windows, maybe a deck, maybe a roof, basement or extra floors. A house may be a place that keeps you warm but it doesn't necessarily give you warmth, a house can be mysterious and sometimes empty. So in the end what is the difference between a house and a home? Well, a house is a building that doesn’t hold much emotion and can be seen as bland but, a home is a place where you feel many emotions and are around things or people that you love. “Never make your home in a place. Make a home for yourself inside your own head. You'll find what you need to furnish it - memory, friends you can trust, love of learning, and other such things. That way it will go with you wherever you journey.” -Tad williams Thank you Habitat for humanity supplying people with a safe warm home to be in and thank you for supporting our country.
