If Home Were The Five Senses
If home was a sound, it would be the soothing sound of the waves by the ocean on a nice summer day. If home was a touch, it would be the warmth of my family hugging me every day, and gentle good night kisses. If home was a smell, it would be the familiar scent of my loving dog while we cuddle together on our comfortable couch. It would also be the strong scent of my family and I roasting marshmallows by an outdoor campfire. If home was a sight, it would be the sight of my dog running towards me to greet me when I come through the door and the calming view of the majestic Rocky Mountains. If home was a taste, it would be sipping glorious hot chocolate with marshmallows creating an explosion of flavors in my mouth. The unforgettable taste of my moms chicken curry and baking will always remind me of home.
I think that my home is a place where I can be myself and have fun. It is a safe place that keeps me sheltered and warm. It hurts my heart to see people, especially kids, that don’t have the simple comforts of a home. If I were able to grant wishes, I would wish that there would not be any homeless people on earth. I am very thankful for Habitat for Humanity who help build homes for the homeless. When I grow up, I would love to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity because they help everyone that needs a home, and I think that everyone deserves a safe and comfortable place to live.
