What Really is Home?

Lucia’s home. I was born on September 12 2011. I was born in Cuba but I came to Canada when I was 2 so I have lived in more than one home. All of my life I have been loved and cared for but my family has different beliefs and that's ok! Lucia's home is with my mom and dad, my brother and my dog. Even in Cuba with all the rest of my family even if Cuba is not safe at the moment. Alex’s home. I am genderfluid so sometimes where I live is not the place I feel the most me. It's like I’m two faced but it's ok not because I want it to be ok but because it has to be ok. So I’m not very sure where I feel home. Maybe it’s school but I don't know. I have been thinking about it for a while but if I'm honest I am still figuring that out. If I could say what I want home to be like I would say that it is a place where you can cry and be yourself where you can feel safe in your own skin. The meaning of home. If I had to combine the two experiences of my life, the meaning of home to me is a place you can go and watch a movie and make fun of the characters in your pj’s. Not having to worry about how you look or how you act you can just be you. That is the meaning of home for me.
