Beauty of my Home

I find meaning in the beauty of my home. The beauty of the universe makes me feel at home. The beauty of the land and clouds above us. The beauty of the shimmering northern lights and stars above our community. The beauty in the pink, red, yellow and orange sunsets and sunrises. The beauty of the moon shining back with silver. The beauty of our summers, the sand and rocks all over the town with the rivers' flow and then in winter, when there is two feet of snow. The beauty in the cotton-coloured snow with rainbows above. The beauty of the town and cabins on the land fully blooming with purple saxifrage flowers. The beauty of nature surrounding our home. The beauty of caribou roaming on the land. The beauty of polar bears keeping their cubs safe. The beauty of fox’s pretty eyes. The beauty of seals swimming, circling the swans. The beauty of bunnies hopping around, blending in with snow. The beauty of snow bunting soaring above our community and settling on grass. The beauty of fish in the winter swimming under the ice and in the summer jumping above the ocean. The beauty of wolves looking for a home to stay. The beauty of our home is also home for animals on the land. The beauty of the people in our town of Cambridge Bay. The beauty of the people in our community helping others. The thought of people in the community hall making beautiful traditional food just waters my mouth. The beauty of watching people sew extravagant parkas, kamiks and mitts. The beauty of my home is the warmth of seeing peoples’ smiles when we have a laugh. I find meaning in the beauty of my home.
