My home to me...

Hi my name is Jackson Harvey, I live in New Minas, Nova Scotia. I live with my Mom, my Dad and my brother. I love living with them cause they are the ones who make me feel safe and loved no matter what. Home is not just 4 walls and a roof to me, I think it is the people around you. I love the smell of mom’s pulled pork and Dad’s cheeseburger grilling on the barbecue, this is home to me. Home is the memory of my dog that stays in my head even though she is gone. Home is Mom and I having 5-minute snuggles every night. Home is my happy place. I used to love playing 1v1 outside on my old basketball hoop against my Dad, I always lost against him but I loved losing because the game was still fun. Home is where I am trusted, and I can tell my Mom and Dad what happened in my day, even if it was good or bad. At home I can express my feelings whether good or bad. Home is where my parents and my family come out to support me in my sports games even if it’s 40 degrees outside or if the gym is cold or if the football field is far away; they're still out there to support me. I love everybody who lives with me and the friends who I get to play with. Sometimes I have to stop and think about all the people that don’t have nice houses like me, that really hits me. Home is watching the Raptors win basketball games with my Dad. Let’s go Raptors!!! I love my comfy bed where I sleep at night. Friday movie night with my family, that’s what home means to me…
