Why school feels like a home

A lot of people describe their home in their house, not only because it's their house, but because of their loved ones and the memories they've made with them in that house. For me, my home is inside my house but it's also at school. In the four paragraphs below, I will be telling/explaining why school feels like home too. At home, I feel safe with the locks on my doors and windows. I feel safe knowing that my family is with me all the time and at school, there's locks on doors and windows too. I have my friends that are like my family with me which make me feel even more safe and secure. When we have practice lockdowns, I'm with my teachers and friends who I feel safe to be around. I'd describe school as a home too in how it's a place where students can openly talk with teachers and friends. They may have problems going on at home and school is their home because they feel safe there. In school there's lots of sounds to be heard in your homeroom and in other classes such as quiet talking, helping others with work, teaching, laughing, lockers opening and closing and having fun with each other. There's lots of different feelings as well- one of them is like sitting in a comfy bean bag chair to relax and have nothing to worry about. Other feelings are holding onto the pages in an interesting book, maybe the grip of your pencil writing on a piece of paper or the feeling of chromebook keys just barely touching your fingers. A lot of these sounds and feelings can be also found in a home as well. There's the feeling of books, pencils or pens and sitting on a couch that are like the feelings you can find at school, they're all pretty similar. Personally, I think school smells a little musty but there's also delicious scents of food like popcorn, fruits and sweets which are things that you can find in your home. School looks like home because you see your friends. Now, seeing your friends feels like home because they feel like family and you can see your family at home but seeing your friends isn't the only reason it looks like home. Maybe to some people, engaging in fun activities feels like home or seeing teachers that you look up to just like your parents. At school, I've made more memories than I could ever imagine with my classmates and friends. The only reason these memories are happy is because it's with my friends. Now you may be wondering about the memories I've made with them and I could tell you but it would take a while so I'll just list a few of them. My happy memories are: going to the movies with my class and eating too much candy, running in the rain during lunch with one of my friends and playing volleyball for fun! I make a lot of happy memories at school just like I do at home. In conclusion, school feels like home because it gives the same sense of comfort, security and happiness that I feel with my family in my house. Home is a feeling that can be found anywhere, including school.
