WHAT HOME MEANS TO ME
Home is not only the place I live in surrounded by furniture and different rooms, it’s the place where I feel safe and loved by my family.
If I was in a different country or province, it would never feel like the home I know, the jolly, happy place surrounded by my family. It would just feel like a gloomy, quiet house. I am very lucky to have a family who is always there for me and loves me for who I am. Every living being deserves to have a family.
I think my home is the happiest place I know. I can spend time with my family, cuddle up to watch a movie with them, crack jokes, and much more fun things that I love to do with my family. My home is filled with laughter and cheer.
If I go to a friend’s house or somebody else’s, it’s never the same as my home. In my home, I can do whatever I want, talk freely and share my thoughts, as everybody in my home is the people I know and the people I have lived with for a long time. Also, my home is not just my family, it’s the city and country I live in too.
I lived in India before I came to Canada. In India, there are a lot of people who speak different languages. I lived in the Southernmost part of India and the city I lived in speaks a language called Tamil.
I can communicate with anybody because everybody there speaks the language I speak. My grandparents live there too. I can go visit them whenever I want as they are near to me. I can spend time with my grandparents and do what I usually do at their house. I can invite friends over, watch movies and play games. Even though I can do all of these things in my previous home in India, Canada is another home that I love. It made me feel welcome when I came here and it’s just another new, happy home for me. I love both my homes and I’m so grateful to God that I have such homes.
