Home

Home is a feeling, a comfort. I can hear my dog's nails tapping on the floorboards, a clickety-clack. Darcy my Great Dane slurps water in big gulps, Bo my french bulldog little slurps. I can hear my brother Ben’s book, the pages turning with a crisp sound. I listen to mom’s music, a soft flowing tune. I can taste the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, an aroma of calm. Boom! Dad’s rock music is loud but comforting in the background. Outside of this warm and loving home is another home, a different home. The rain slaps my back as I race to get home, and a cold shiver creeps up on me. I look into a warm, glowing welcoming home, not mine. I reach a little patch of trees, this is my home. I feel a tad drier and welcome, this is my comfort. The sound of wind whistling through the trees, the smell of pine trees surrounding me. I hear birds singing proudly in the morning,
