Home Is Deep Inside of You

Home Is Deep Inside of You By Annebell L. Most people think that a home is just a roof and some walls, but they’re wrong. Home is not a place, it’s a feeling! If you have the biggest house and the strongest structure but still aren’t happy, then you’re not truly at home. Some people are unfortunate and don’t have a house, but if they’re with the people they love, then they are kinda at home. I heard a quote from Barbie once, it was like “ Home isn’t made of a roof and some walls, it’s made by the people you love.” Now I finally understand the difference between a house and home. A house is just a structure, a building, a place for people and animals to live in. Whereas a home is a place deep in you that you feel connected to and safe and happy. Home also involves something else, a family. It doesn’t need to be a “real” family since some people are unfortunate to have lost their family :( , but home needs to be surrounded by the people you love and consider as family. It’s like what most of my teachers say, “classmates are our family in this class and we must conquer challenges together!” Sometimes if you go out of your way and give some people kindness, both of you will feel good inside and maybe you’ll be rewarded with kindness yourself! Last summer, my family went to British Columbia! When we were in Vancouver, we usually took the skytrain since we didn’t rent a car yet, and as soon as those doors open, people rush inside like crazy! (The skytrain drives on it’s own so once I got to sit at the front! But there was bird poop) So once when we already got in, I saw the doors close on an older lady! Without thinking I rushed there to help her pull the doors apart and I felt really good inside! Though you do have to be careful, (like my hands could have been stuck too!) it's always good to help someone. Some people might not consider their physical house home, but what about the classroom or the library, or the soccer field, the swimming pool, the skytrain, your mind, your bed? There is a place we all truly feel at home!
