What home means to me

To me home is a calm and safe place to be, with warm blankets, cozy beds, books to read, and toys to play with. In my home there are 5 people and a dog named Timber. Inside the walls of my home is love, kindness, and peace. Normally in my home I can hear the oven, my brother's yelling or my parents talking. On some nights I can smell bacon cooking on the stove downstairs for dinner. At night I can feel my warm and soft duvet covering my body. I can feel my dog’s soft brown fur when I run my hands through it. Everybody in my family knows when my dog Timber wants to play because she starts squeaking her toy duck on the carpet. Every Friday night it is movie night in my home and sometimes my dad even makes popcorn! I think that everybody should be able to have a place to call home and to feel all these feelings. I am grateful for Habitat for Humanity for giving people a place to call home.
