The Meaning of Home

The Meaning of home to me is family. Without family there would be no home. Without family there will be no smiles or laughs, and you might say “but my friends make me laugh and they also make me smile but aren't they in different blood?” Well if they make you smile or laugh a lot I would consider them as family. My bff Emily, I sometimes call her sis even though she is not my sister. I can call her family. Family is supposed to be somewhere you feel safe, it's where you feel at home. Home is supposed to be where you're comfortable and IT IS NOT WHERE YOU'RE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF. Sometimes people laugh at you, make fun of you, or don’t respect who you are. But at home that does not happen. Family is your safe house. Just saying. Anyway the point I'm trying to make is if you have no one or nothing to make you feel safe find your family, your pet, your friend ANYTHING that makes you feel safe like family means home. When I'm with my family, I feel safe. When I'm with my best friend, Emily, I feel safe. When I'm with my dog, I feel protected. Even though my bff is not in the same blood, I feel safe. Even though my dog is in a different blood, I feel protected and when I feel safe it’s home. And this is what home means to me, the safety of family.
