The Meaning of Home

These are the things that make me feel at home: my cat, my mom and dad, my mom’s art on the walls, and my trampoline in the backyard. My cat makes my house feel like home. My cat is a boy cat and he is a weird colour. He looks like he has a light bulb on both sides of his body because the colour changes in the shape of a light bulb. I always notice this, whether it is dark or light in the room. The only time I can’t see this is when it is very dark. Sometimes he lays on me and I like that. His name is Griffin. Mom and dad make my house feel like home too. I like french toast and mostly dad makes french toast, but sometimes mom makes it too. My brother Nova and I both like french toast so we get it on our birthdays and some other days too. My mom is an artist and we have lots of her pictures in our house. We have prints of some of them as well as a mug and a giant blanket with a picture of a black crow on it that she painted. The blanket feels nice but we haven’t had it that long. My favourite was a painting of a blue flying cat with a third eye but we don’t have it anymore because it was sold. She also made a painting of an Atlas moth which I think is the largest moth. It’s one of my favourites because it has my name in it. We have a trampoline in the backyard. I like to bounce on it. Sometimes I fall down. All of these things make me feel loved and comfortable and that feels like home to me.
