My Home

As I walk toward the front door I hear the frenzy of barking coming from my dog, Albert, and the happy shouts of my little sister. When I open the front door my whole family comes to greet me, then comes the nice smells of home, my mother’s favourite candle, my father’s spicy food that always leaves a tingle on my tongue and the smell of clean laundry, the smell of home. My sister helps me put my backpack and my books away while I put away my lunchbox and my light spring coat. After, my father lets my mother take over dinner while he helps me with my spelling homework and reciting my words and my subtractions and additions. I love when he jokes around while he helps me with my schoolwork he always makes silly jokes about my subtractions and my words. Then, my sister and I go play our little alien game on our big swings shaped like saucers and we play and play until the sunsets. That is what home is to me, not just a building with walls and a roof, home is a place filled with love and joy. Where you can feel safe and happy. That is my home.
