An Open Door

Many people would believe that a house and a home are the same things. But to me and many others, they are quite different. Some would say that both can be built but by different people. A house is a structure that is built by humans on a lot of property. It could have furniture, toys, food, and many other things. You go to your house after school or after work. But it also isn’t as special to some as a home. A home is also where you can make memories with the people you love and care about. I think that both a home and a house have a door, and you may be confused. Let me explain. A house has a door that you can walk through, and enter the structure that you live in. But a home has a door that's always open and welcomes you to be there at all times--no matter what you look like, sound like, think like, or act like. A home is where you feel safe, special, and important. It could be with your family, your friends or anywhere in the world. It could be your school or even your house. But your home is a place for you to choose.
