Home
I consider home to be where my friends and family are, and where I feel comfortable to be myself. Home is where my family lives because they matter the most to me. Home can also be made up of friends. They can make me feel like I’m at home, because they are always sharing kindness. Even if they are not related to me, they still feel like family. Home is where I feel loved. I feel many emotions when I am home, because my family and friends make me feel special. Home can be a shelter, but really all one needs is someone to have their back and to make them feel extraordinary.
Not everyone feels the same way I do about home. Some people think home is a roof over their head and a physical structure. However, home isn’t just where you live it is the people that you live with. Not everyone has a house or shelter, however, everyone has the opportunity to make a home through the relationships they make. People need shelter to protect themselves from the outdoors but nothing compares to the protection of your family and friends, who can be your home because they care for you. I could have everything in the world but without my parents I would be different and I would have other emotions. My family means a lot to me because they care for me,they make me feel special, and they make me feel comfortable to be myself. I feel at home on vacations because my family is with me, even when I am exercising with my family I feel at home. At my age, I spend a lot of time with my family but when I was at camp I didn’t feel at home because my family wasn’t there. Even though I was having lots of fun, I didn’t feel as special as I do at home. For me, home is not just a physical structure, but instead my family is home. Home is where my family comes together.
Family doesn’t need to be related to you, your family could be your friends that care for you. Friends make you feel the same way that your family does. Not everyone that is generous towards you is necessarily related to you, but sometimes you can feel like they are part of your family. Some people may think that friends are not your family but when you think about it more you realize that friends are just like your family. Friends are there for you when you are hurt and when you are upset. My friends can make me feel different emotions, that includes making my worries go away, making me feel special, and if I had no friends I would not be confident to be myself. In the school yard I got hurt and my friends were there to help me up. Another example is when I am sitting alone on the field they make me feel happier and included. Everyone deserves to have a roof over their head and a caring family, but for those that are less fortunate, their closest friends can be their home because they care for you. Some people may not be fortunate to have relatives that feel like family, however if they have friends, they have all that they need to feel at home. The people who care for me are my family.
I know I am home when I feel a unique way. I feel safer at home. I feel relaxed, I have no worries, and I feel loved. I feel protected because my family will always keep me secure. I feel relaxed because I know my family is healthy, and I know that they are safe. I feel loved because my friends and family know me very well. They know when I need help with school work, they give advice when I have a problem. They accept me even when I show emotion. My family and friends forgive me if I do something bad. We are happy to spend time with one another. We give each other nicknames, nicknames show that they remember things about me and they know about me. My family is very kind even if sometimes I get mad at my brother. Home is made up of the people that I care for, and these people make me feel special. These emotions only can be felt at home when I am with my friends and family.
I am very proud to have a family that supports me, friends that show me kindness and emotions that make me feel at home. My friends and family have my back every day and I am thankful to have them. When I am at home I feel many different ways.I know I am home when I feel loved and when I have friends and family who care for me. Home is not a place, it is wherever your loved ones are and where you can be yourself every day.
