Home
When you walk into your house or community you may think nothing of it. You think this is just a building, with walls and a roof. I don’t think of my home this way.
I think of home as the place I am always welcomed and loved. Home is the place where family and friends join together and enjoy the company. I never feel as if I have to be someone else. The second I walk into my community or house I feel grateful for all the things I already have, and forget about the things I want. Right now, I have my family, friends, pets, and neighbors. Without these people, home would never be as warm and welcoming as it is.
For me, I don’t only have one home. I have multiple. For example, there is my house. My house is a home to me because it is filled with all my loved ones. There is my cottage, it is home because I have so many memories of my family and me there. Finally, my barn. Every week I go horseback riding, I have developed a relationship with all the friends and horses there. To me, I would find it impossible to ever say goodbye to any of these places because I have so much to remember and hold onto.
I love my homes and will never think twice about that statement. They are all unique and special in their own way. So the next time that you walk into a place that you love, or would consider home. Never ever forget about the meaning of this place.
One thing I have learned is that home isn’t just the building inside and out, it is the people that are inside and out of it.
