What Home Means to Me

If you watch any Disney movie, look for the characters’ connection to home. Most likely you will end up finding one, or maybe even more than one! For an example, take Encanto. They live in Columbia, and Abuela was forced from her home by dangerous people who are probably drug dealers, it's not safe where she lived. All she wanted was a safe place to live. And Mirabel actually does have a power; it’s seeing the truth, or having open eyes. And what does home mean to me? It means privacy, love, hope, family, safety… All those things are part of a good home. In every family there has to be a little bit of disagreements, arguments, fights, regrets, and a whole lot of no’s… and those are all normal, but you can’t have too many or too little. But having a perfect family isn’t exactly good! Just imagine if everybody said “Yes, sure, okay, absolutely you can do that.” It would get pretty messed up, I think, But you don’t want your family to be imperfect either, or like with no safety, no family, no love, no hope… you would want it just in the middle. I believe nothing and no one is actually perfect. Let's take Jesus for an example… he got mad when the people were selling stuff in God's house (the church back then) so he knocked over all the tables. Jesus! So that story is an example that nobody is perfect, not even God's son himself. So nobody is perfect, and we all deserve a home. That's a nice way to end this.
