What a home means to me

A home is the foundation of possibility, A never-ending hope, A place where families and friends live, And a portal into a new world. A home is somewhere that people should feel safe, A place where memories are stored, A place where we can truly be who we are, And whether they are big or small they could be life changers. A home is where one lives, To them, it’s a sanctuary, A light into the future, And where one finds happiness. I am trying to imagine if I didn’t have a home. I would be unsafe, insecure, and afraid because rain, lightning, or hail comes, I could get hurt. There would not be any heaters or air conditioners so it would be very uncomfortable, sometimes very cold and sometimes very hot. To me a home isn’t just a place where we live, it’s a place where the owners look forward to living in. A home could be made of anything and store the memories of the owners. It is a place to have fun, tell stories, and share opinions, therefore it is more than an area for living; it is a feeling. A feeling of happiness and optimism. It is a shelter where they can do whatever they please. A home is a place where you can take care of your beloved ones.
