What home means to me
To me home means family, loving, caring family.
My home is warm and cozy with joy and hope in every corner.
I consider my home the place where all my memories and marks are.
I feel a home is a lot different than a house in many different ways.
A home is more important than a house.
A house is a mere building and that will never change.
A house has walls, a roof and doors.
But a home has love, happiness and family.
You tell me which is more important.
If everyone just had a house the world would be sad.
No one would have a home, just a house.
I am writing this poem to help people who need a home not just a house.
To give something I don’t need, but other people do.
To show them I care and that we are going to help them.
So that they know we are here for them.
I hope this will bring hope to all the people who are struggling out there.
And to tell them it’s going to be okay.
To tell them you have a Home and to see their eyes light up.
For them to be able to say “I have a home”.
“And Habitat for Humanity gave it to me when I needed it”.
And if I win this contest I can say I gave more than five people or five family’s a home to live in.
So that their kids or them can say “my things, my house, my HOME”
And that would make me the happiest person ever.
All I can say is that I care about those people.
And I hope I can help them in any way.
This is how I hope to help them.
