Gnome's Homes

There once was a gnome (whose name is Beardy) who left home then later he couldn't find his way back then he said, “I will have to live out here for now.” Then after a while he realized how it felt to not have a good home because he was in an old rundown building. He called a cab to take him to his house and it turns out he was in the wrong place. The place he was in was old and destroyed. Then later he bought a house. Then when he bought it he realized, “This doesn't feel like my other house, this doesn't feel like home!” He decided to sell the new house and he got a map from a stand. He was on his way back home. When he got there he was so happy he kissed the house and map. He finally realized, “I need to help some people who don't have a home, but how?” He was stumped! What could he do? He thought. He said, “I need to help them. I should rest but I can't. I need to get those people a home, not a house. A home doesn't have this feeling, this warm hug, this comfort that lets you know you're safe. It's like a place to go where it’s ok to cry, it's ok to ask for a hug where it’s also ok to ask for help. I am going to build some houses.” He joined Habitat for Humanity and built some houses for the people who can’t afford them with money. After he built a few, he was worn out. He went back to his humble home and visited that sweet, sweet warm hug again knowing he helped the unfortunate. He slept soundly and gave homes not houses.
