The feeling of home

Home means a lot of things to me. One of the things that it means is a place where I grew up. I have a connection to the place, and that connection will be there forever. A touch of myself lies within my home. I've shaped memories there , and I've grown roots in my home, like trees do in a forest. My home will be a part of my history forever. A home is a community, not just somewhere I live. It’s another world, a welcoming space. The people living in it are supportive, caring, and loving. To feel loved is another thing that I feel when I’m in my home. Your home doesn’t even have to be a house. Your community can be almost anything, as long as you’re feeling loved by everybody in it. When I’m in my home I feel safe, because after all, home is a feeling, not a place. Feeling safe is a mixture of emotions, like feeling cared for, comfortable, and carefree. It’s important to feel safe because when you don’t, all other good feelings get locked away. Feeling safe is the key to making sure you can experience the other feelings of home. You should never feel unsafe in your home. If you feel like that all the time, you can’t really call it a home. The things above are the most important definitions of home to me. It may mean something else to you and other people, and I’m sure it does. But to me, a house will always just be a house; because only when I have the feeling of home does it become one to me.
